#WebbsgoneCArAZy: Our CA to AZ Move
We may have been the #WebbsgoneCArAZy but we are sharing our CA to AZ move! We’ve officially been living in Arizona for a little over a month now and… we LOVE it!
We’re seriously so happy we decided to go for it! The kids are happy and they are loving their new schools. The weather is beautiful and we have so much land that Sav and Hunt pretty much live outside. Our neighborhood is amazing. I swear sometimes the kids come home from school and then we don’t see them til dinner because they’re off playing with the neighbors.
It really feels like we’ve been on-the-go nonstop since moving and it’s actually been pretty fun.
I swear there’s always something going on or something to do. I’ve been able to connect with so many Insta friends here that I’ve had for years and we’ve already done a couple of girls’ nights!
When we aren’t out and about exploring our cute little water tower town, it’s been fun figuring out the new things around the house that we didn’t have before like how we water our grass or bulk trash days – which are both amazing by the way.
The kids have enjoyed picking the fruit off of our citrus trees and we put up a pool fence.
When you’re reading this, we’ve already completed our first DIY project, which was painting the fireplace inside. And we have more projects lined up so follow along on Insta for more of those!
I know it hasn’t been that long at all, but this decision was such a good one for our family and I’ll be sure to keep you updated regularly on my Instagram. The entire move happened so fast and we went from casually looking to putting in an offer very quickly, but it just felt like God was giving us all the signs that it was the right thing for us. If you want to hear the full story about how we got our house and see a full house tour, I have an Instagram highlight saved all about it. And I am also going to answer some of the more frequently asked questions here too!
Why did you move to Arizona?
Mostly, we were ready for a change and to experience something new together.
I lived in California my whole life and we had always talked about moving somewhere else. I have family here and we knew it’d be fun to have our kids close to them. We also love the lifestyle here. Whether it’s more temporary or long term, we’re not sure yet, but we’re very happy with our decision so far.
What did you do with your California house?
We kept it and rented it out! Because we kept it, it let us have a little of a bigger budget for this house.
Did you take all of your animals?
YES! Of course, no Webb left behind!
What about Jas’s job?
He’s been mostly remote for almost two years now. Since my business started growing a lot a couple years ago, we made the decision for him to be home with me and he has an incredible team working for him. And it’s only a 1.5 hour flight if he does need to go back for anything!
How was the transition for the kids from CA to AZ?
It went so well! We decided it was best to have them start at a new school mid-school year so that’s why we moved so quickly after Christmas. This way they’ll have friends before summer so they won’t feel lonely when they aren’t in school and then in the fall they’ll already know people and have friends. Sav was sooo excited to move and I think Hunt was pretty indifferent. We have so many friends and family in AZ, so we hoped it wouldn’t be too hard of a transition. They made friends pretty quickly at school and then our neighborhood has a TON of kids, which is really nice.
We were all pretty emotional come actual moving day, but luckily we were excited too for our CA to AZ move, so that really helped.
How many acres of land do you have? And do you need to do any projects to make it farm ready?
We’re on 1.5 acres. And the land is farm ready and we have a 6 stall barn. So we don’t neeeed to do any projects. The house is beautiful and updated, but there are things I want to do to make it more my style. And if you’re reading this, you already saw that we impulsively DIYed the fireplace a couple weeks ago. We love home projects!
How did the actual moving part work with all of the animals and stuff?
It went well! We went with Roadway Moving to move all of our stuff and they were AMAZING! They do all the packing, bubble wrapping, disassembly, labeling, etc. Everyone was so hardworking and kind and they made the whole process less stressful. The kids, my mom, and I all flew out one day. And then Jas and Riley drove towing my car and a couple other things. Then we had a friend drive all of the animals down. Everyone made it here safe and in one piece!
Let me know if you have any other questions on the CA to AZ transition I missed! And sometimes you gotta just follow the whole #WebbsgoneCArAZy mentality 🙂
