Cabo Guide
After all of the passport drama, we made it to Cabo and we had the best time so I pulled everything together in this Cabo guide!
We traveled there Nov 1-11 and I think it’s the longest trip we’ve ever taken. I was in a wedding in in Todos Santos, so most of the time we were in Cabo and then we were at the wedding for 2.5 days!
We stayed at Villa Del Arco and there were such beautiful views everywhere! We’ve come here almost every year since I was a kid. It’s a part of the villa group so they have 3 resorts right next to each other that you can walk between. My mom stayed at La Estancia which is the fancier one of the group. Villa Del Palmar is the one with the whale slide that the kids loved. I love these resorts because they are kid friendly and feel really safe. And they are close enough to town so there’s lots to do and explore. We don’t do the all inclusive, but I think they have that option!
The good thing about going on vacation with your kids is that you never miss a sunrise!
When Summer needed to nap, most of the time Jas would take the kids to the pool and I would stay in the room with Summer. She is at the age where she needs to nap in a crib, so it was easier this way. Then when she would wake up, we’d go down to the pool to join everyone.
We also just so happened to be there during Dia de los Muertos, so there were so many fun celebrations and beautiful decorations and memorials. They had a boat parade that we watched from dinner and it ended with fireworks.
We did have to go to the onsite doctor one night because we thought Savannah got some sort of stomach infection from something she ate or the ocean water. We’re always super careful about drinking water when we go to Mexico and only drink bottled water, but it really could’ve been anything. The doctor gave her some anti nausea medicine and antibiotics and she woke up feeling better! And then Hunter got stung by a bee, so we had two minor incidents, but other than that we were good.
After a couple days, Jas and I headed to Todos Santos for a wedding that I was a bridesmaid in, while my mom and her boyfriend watched the kids.
We had 2.5 days without babies and we’ve never been away from them for that long, but it was so nice to be able to spend time with just the two of us.
The wedding was so beautiful and so fun! They had a welcome pool party, where Jas showed off his dance moves (if you watched my story then you know what I’m talking about!). I had almost completely lost my voice by the wedding day, but the whole thing was so beautiful. The wedding was inside the cutest chapel and the tables had the dreamiest setup.
While in Todos Santos we stopped to get a couple souvenirs. We got Summer a cute dress, I got a purse, Sav and Hunt got keychains.
After the wedding, we headed back to the resort to reunite with our kiddos. I missed them so much! We had a relaxing night watching the sun go down and eating dinner from our lounge chairs.
Where we ate:
Edith’s – Summer LOVED the mariachi band! The kids got to help with the banana flambe which was cool!
Comal Restaurant & Bar at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences – This resort is so beautiful! We definitely want to stay there at some point. And this is where the kids got their fancy Shirley Temples!
Flora Farms – It’s a farm to table restaurant with a cute little market.
They had really big turtles in their little pond and the kids loved them. The food was so fresh and you have to try the Farmerita! It’s a margarita with heirloom carrot juice and it was sooo good! And then we had ice cream at Flora’s field kitchen.
What we did:
Like I said, the resort is super kid-friendly, so Sav and Hunt really enjoyed themselves, even if it was just hanging out in the pool. They really lived their best lives drinking virgin daiquiris from the swim up bar and floating around.
Baby Sums loved eating the sand. She basically ate her weight in sand haha!
One day Jas rented one of those motor surfboards and tried it, but totally bailed.
We went swimming with dolphins and it was so fun! Hunt tickled its belly, Sav danced, and we all got kisses. Then Hunter asked if we could adopt it!
We decided to book a time slot to do a quick family photo sesh through the hotel. I was a little concerned they wouldn’t turn out, but we did get a couple good pictures.
Right next door to Flora Farms is a place called Acre Baja. It’s a luxury hotel, but they have an animal sanctuary onsite that had donkeys, puppies, and other animals and we got to play with The Acre Dogs. They are all rescued off of the streets and ready for adoption, which is just so amazing!
We got a glass bottom boat to go out and see some of the arches and fish.
Another random thing we did: We kept walking by those places where you dip your feet in the water and the fish eat the dead skin and Hunt kept begging to do it. So we finally let him and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so excited about something!
On our last night we rented a catamaran to sail around and watch the sunset. It was definitely the highlight of our trip!
